Count the risers (what people call steps), give the stair width, the tread depth and the riser height, and add any landing. We add 20% for the many small cuts.
Typical (not a code): riser 6–7 in, tread 10–12 in, tread thickness 18–30 mm. Check NBC 2016 before quoting any limit.
